Barcelona is a modern and cosmopolitan city open to the sea and with very different neighborhoods. This tour will give you the opportunity to get to know in 8 hours what the city is like in the 21st century. Through a well thought out itinerary you will get to know and visit from the Roman beginnings of the city to the most modern areas such as the renovation of Poble Nou and the Plaza de las Glorias without forgetting the great works and monuments made during different periods:
Roman Barcelona and Gothic Quarter
The narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter hide much of the city’s history. We will see the remains of Roman aqueducts, the Jewish Call, some of the houses of the guilds of the Middle Ages and the large Gothic basilicas such as Santa María del Mar, Santa María del Pi and Sant Just y Pastor.
During the walk we will not be able to forget the famous market of the Boquería, the Ramblas and the Liceo or squares with charm like the Plaza del Rey, the real square or Sant Felip Neri.
Barcelona, look towards the sea and this is the first thing you will see when you walk along the coastline. Pay special attention to the area of Port Vell, Barceloneta and some incredible historic buildings located in this area such as the Astilleros (Drassanes).
Monument to Columbus
Enjoy the spectacular views of the entire city at your feet. You will see how Barcelona is surrounded by mountains and faces the sea. You will also pass in front of the great facilities of the Olympic Barcelona: The Olympic Stadium, the pebetero of the famous architect Calatrava or the Palau Sant Jordi.
Paseo de Gracia
A must-see on the city’s noblest street where luxury shops accompany the majestic view of the facades of the most emblematic modernist civil buildings designed by famous architects: Casa Gaudí and Casa Batlló by Antonio Gaudí; Casa Amatller by Puig y Cadafalch and Lleó Morera by Domenech i Montaner, among others.
Any tour in Barcelona can not forget the Basilica of the Holy Family. The emblem of the city and the great opera by the brilliant architect from Barcelona. We will make an exterior visit
We will enter the monumental area of the Municipal Park, which should have become an exclusive residential area for the city’s bourgeoisie. The project, too modern for the time, had to be abandoned by the architect and his patron. Thanks to that today we can enjoy a unique park with constructions that play to integrate with nature and that at the same time were solutions and innovative improvements.
