Description of the rute

Would you like to know how they lived in Medieval Barcelona? Travel in time and discover the stories, characters and the way of life and thinking back then.

Walking through the narrow medieval streets and travel back in time to discover the fascinating history of the Gothic quarter of Barcelona is one of the best adventures we offer. The remains of the medieval period hidden in these streets will help us to bring to life those unknown corners of the city that don’t appear in tourist guides!

Stories and legends of the Gothic Quarter Tour is an exclusive product of  ICONO Serveis Culturals.

This tour starts in Plaça Nova, passing the ancient city gate of Barcino, and continues through the Jewish quarter (Call) and its many squares such as: Plaza de Sant Jaume (where the city hall is located); Plaça del Rei , Plaça de l’Àngel , Plaça del Pi.  It ends behind of the Cathedral.

At the end of the tour, you will enjoy a pintxos tasting in a traditional Tapas Bar of  Gothic Quarter,  an area famous for its wineries and small designer shops.

Stories and Legends of the Gothic Quarter: excellent tour and guide.

My husband and I took this tour in May (2018). Our guide Giovanna, was absolutely fantastic! She was so knowledgeable about the Gothic Quarter and made history come to life. She was enthusiastic, very friendly and her English was impeccable. We had another couple on the tour from Spain, and Giovanna was terrific in switching back and forth from Spanish to English without making any of us feel that we were missing anything. This tour was one of the highlights of our Barcelona vacation.

FAQ about regular tours

What is a regularly scheduled tour?

A regularly scheduled tour is a tour that we do with scheduled departures. You buy your ticket for a specific day and time and you will share the tour with other people. We care about the quality of our tours, so you will never find mass groups. If many people sign up, we divide the group into two. In the case of the Slow Gothic Tour, you will never find more than 12 people. In the rest of our regular tours, the maximum is 22 people.

What do you need to do a regularly scheduled tour?

Once the reservation is made, you only have to show up at the meeting point at the indicated time.

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes because the tour is on foot. If it’s summer, maybe a bottle of water or something to refresh you may also come in handy.

How can I customize the experience?

This tour can not be customized because it is a regular tour. If you want to do it exclusively you can contact us and customize it to your liking: choose the day, the time and the number of people or change part of the route and include another stop or monument. We will answer you and we can follow the process.
